Why is My Hair Falling Out Female

Its fact that men are more prone to lose hair than women may be due to male pattern baldness. Hair loss and thinning hair women are very much common and make you lose confidence. Reasons for hair loss can range from simple to complex. Simple hair problems can be Vitamin deficiency and complex hair problems due to an underlying health condition. Here are some of the hair loss cure and common issues for hair loss in women.

Physical Stress

Any sort of Physical stress like an accident or surgery or flu or illness can cause hair loss. Hair has a systematic life cycle and due to excessive stress can literally disturb the hair life cycle. High level emotional or physical stress like severe emotional distress, blood loss, serious illness or major surgery can cause sudden shed a huge amount of hair.

Female hormones

One of the causes of hair loss can be the pregnancy hormone changes and also opting for birth-control pills. These hormonal changes can be due to heredity, which is known as telogen effluvium. During menopause, there is a hormonal imbalance which has the same result.

Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism

The thyroid gland will support to improve the body’s metabolism by controlling the production of tissue and proteins use of oxygen. Imbalance in the thyroid gland can cause a problem in hair follicles. Anyone of this thyroids is left untreated can impact the hair.


Many pregnant women experience huge hair fall after their post-pregnancy.

This is due to hormone estrogen where we can expect a full hair growth. But once after the pregnancy, hormones will come back to the normal phase which might result in hair fall at once.  But this hair fall is temporary and will be back to normal after a few days.

Hair Loss Causes


Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where it attacks healthy tissues in our immune system. Women develop a butterfly-shaped rash across the nose. Lupus often causes headaches, ulcers, fatigue, swollen joints and other symptoms include hair loss which may be severe like rash on the scalp and patches.


There are huge changes happens in a woman’s body once she hits menopause and during that period there can be hair fall. This is due to hormone imbalance in the body. By this, it can make your hair dry and can cause hair loss during menopause.

Iron Deficiency

Women who have heavy periods and if they don’t eat food which is rich in iron might be prone to iron deficiency. If there is a lack of iron deficiency they don’t have enough red blood cells. Iron deficiency can cause a huge hair loss.


Women who are on medications for any thyroids like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism or any birth control pills can face side effects like huge hair fall if they suddenly stop using them. This includes any other therapies or hormonal pills or chemotherapy sessions can also lead to hair loss.

Sudden Weight Loss

Losing a lot of weight suddenly or crash dieting can cause an adverse effect on hair growth. This happens because our body needs an essential nutrient which is the lack of dieting which in return impact on our hair growth.
